ULI Chicago Product Council Member

ULI Chicago Product Council Member

ULI Chicago conducts a year-long members-only Chicago Product Council (“CPC”) initiative. The local CPC initiative is modeled after ULI’s National Product Council Program and is available for application to all ULI Chicago members.

The strength of the CPC’s lies in the diversity of the councils. The selection of participants is based on industry sector, relevant experience, and a commitment and desire to participate in the program (personal essay). Councils are comprised of all ULI membership types – including Full, Associate and Under 35 members, and have a limited number of spaces in each member category.

A minimum of 2 years of ULI Chicago Membership and 5 years of experience in the CRE industry is needed to apply.

WHAT

CPC participants commit to meet three times in a calendar year – 3 half-day meetings in addition to an opening reception – which consist of guest speakers, case studies, round table discussions, and exclusive offsite tours.

Council membership is a privilege desired by many ULI members and the value of the Council experience is determined by the quality and participation of its members. Each Council member is therefore expected to be a committed participant of the Council, contributing as much value to the Council experience as they take home.

    • Come to Council meetings ready to participate openly and honestly with specific, detailed information and experience from your current real estate practice.
    • Help make discussions productive and high value by engaging your fellow council members respectfully with your most relevant information and experience.
    • Everything discussed within a Council is kept completely confidential by all Council members. Violation of confidentiality will result in immediate expulsion from your Council.
    • Keep your presentations and discussions aimed at delivering real take-home value for your peers, not your business.
    • It should go without saying that you cannot be fully engaged in your council while checking your email. Most Councils have breaks designed to allow members to check in and stay connected a few times during the day.
    • Council members are expected to be active participants in ULI’s mission of providing leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. This includes attending and participating at the ULI Fall Meeting and ULI Chicago meetings, participating on a local community, and contributing to ULI publications/communications.
